Frost Portfolio

My name is Lyubomir Spirov. I have always been interested in creating  cool things. For instance I started doing so by drawing horror characters, mecha concepts, imaginary super heroes and so on.  Since then, I have known that somehow the art of drawing would be part of my life.

When I graduated from high school, I stood up and told myself that I had to move on. That’s what I did- I followed my heart and applied for MMD, because I wanted my creativity to come back. Before being enrolled at MMD, I had had no clue about Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Maya etc.

As I was going forward, I discovered a new world without any boundaries and then I came up with this: “A web/graphic designer itself is a God”. After passing the first semester, I had a clear vision of what I would put most efforts on-  visualization.

What’s my project all about?

Having been inspired by the world’s coolest company- Blizzard, I came up with an awesome idea on creating a portfolio design that would fit my interests absolutely.  It was a good reason to express my dedication to that giant gaming producer by creating a piece of work that shall hold inside all my game and design passion beyond any limits.

How did I make it?

The most complicated part of my task was actually  figuring out of the concept. Firstly I started by sketching the design up with a pencil. It’s a good method in order to create the basic structure of your project.  You might ask what is so hard? Well, there are many rules that you have to work by.  Anyway, I made five or six sketches and then I had to consider which was the best.

What tool did I use?

After getting clear the concept, I used the well-known programs- Photoshop and Illustrator.  By doing so, I  gave a life sparkle to my sketch and got it done just like you can see it now. To be more precise in my explanation, I made the logo in Illustrator, and the rest of the design in Photoshop.

How much time did it take?

Summing up all of the steps that I covered in order to finalize the design, I spent  about  four  days of hard working . Most of the designers will do such a piece of work for 2 days, but I personally prefer working out everything  until  it is done perfectly.

Do I have more works to show?

Yes, I do! Recently I have become a member of Deviantart’s creative community and there I have submitted all the works that I have got up to now. Do you want to check it out?  Click here.

What would I like to master?

In several years, I find myself both as a web designer and a concept artist. I would very much like to create complex gaming web designs, characters and environment. Yet I have got to do a lot of work but at least I have put a start to it.  “99% of hard working and 1% of talent”, as it were.
