Tell us about yourself.

Hi there, my name is Szabolcs Szakacs, I’m from Romania where I finished “Titu Maiorescu” University and got a bachelor in informatics in 2009, delivering a project about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I got a scholarship to come to Denmark and study computer engineering at Southern Denmark University, where I graduated in 2011 with a thesis about web technologies, design and search engine optimization. Recently I graduated as a multimedia designer from Lillebaelt Erhversakademiet where I participated in several projects with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds and as a final project, together with my colleague, Egle Slimaite, we opened and launched our own company, called Handcrafted Dream Studio.

What do you love about MMD?

MMD was different from all my previous educations, it was something that I’ve chosen out of pure curiosity and a little interest. It turned out to be the most friendly environment that I’ve ever studied/worked in; people helping each other from different groups, socializing every Friday at the “Friday bar” and other cool events.
Oh, maybe you’re more interested in what you might learn? I can tell you that if you are up to it, you can learn a lot! Some of it won’t be interesting, some of it will be boring and some of it might not even be enough, but you’ll learn how to work together, share the knowledge and succeed as a team and in the same time learn on your own and learn how to learn the best way, your way!

Why did you come to MMD?

I came to MMD because I had time and didn’t know how better to spend it (at that time I didn’t had a job). I believe I made the right choice. This education helped me make a huge step towards my dream to open my own company. I found the right person to do it with, I got an incredible amount of help from teachers and professionals and here I am now, as the proud Marketing Manager of Handcrafted Dream Studio.
